Project-Based Division
Eligible Grades
ML (Junior/Middle School) Division: Grades 6–9
S-Pre (High School Bilingual) Division: Grades 9–12
S-Classic (High School Classic) Division: Grades 9–12
The task difficulty in the ML Division is lower than that of the S Divisions. Participants may use either Chinese or English; however, the use of Chinese in any round will preclude advancement to the Global Study Phase.
The S-Pre Division is a bilingual (Chinese/English) track. Its task difficulty is lower than that of the S-Classic Division, and this division does not offer advancement to the Global Study Phase.
The S-Classic Division requires the exclusive use of English and is the only division that permits participants to select a custom topic.
Participation Format
Teams (3–4 members per team)
Upon selecting this division, team members are required to collaborate and divide responsibilities. They must analyze a given case study from the distinct perspectives of various business roles, collectively complete a comprehensive business case analysis, and ultimately present their findings in the form of a presentation.
Target Audience
Students with a strong interest in business, a talent for teamwork, and a keen desire to engage in real-world business practice; those who are eager to explore the diverse possibilities of life and prioritize the cultivation of foundational, interdisciplinary competencies.
Program Highlights
Authentic Case Studies
In collaboration with the Peking University HSBC Business School Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship—alongside renowned think tanks—we closely track current business hotspots, market trends, and industry trajectories. By integrating these insights with the daily life experiences and learning styles of Chinese students, we have curated a selection of business case studies that are highly relevant and relatable to the lives of secondary school students.
Through a diverse array of themes, we encourage students to adopt a multi-faceted perspective—moving beyond the narrow confines of traditional business coursework—to critically examine the "business rules and conventional wisdom" that we often accept without deep reflection. This process enables them to uncover the interdisciplinary connections underlying complex business challenges and to reflect on the pivotal role that academic knowledge plays within the real business world.
Real-World Tasks
The program features a series of practical, process-oriented assignments that involve on-site field research, the collection of primary data, and the resolution of actual business challenges faced by real-world enterprises.
Engaging Experiences
We offer a wealth of immersive, hands-on simulation experiences designed to elevate theoretical knowledge, allowing students to see their academic learning truly come to life through practical application.
