BPA Competition Coaching Syllabus (30 Hours: 22 Hours of Instruction + 8 Hours of Grading)

Course Objectives

1. Systematically integrate international business theories with the practical requirements of the BPA competition, providing in-depth, end-to-end training—from initial problem deconstruction and insight generation to professional project delivery.

2. Develop a business proposal that demonstrates nationwide competitiveness in terms of academic rigor, strategic innovation, and professional presentation.

3. Empower participants to advance decisively through the preliminary rounds and possess the absolute capability to contend for the national championship.

Systematic Instruction Phase (22 Hours)

[Phase I: Strategic Problem-Solving, Innovation, and Business Model Architecture (6 Hours)]

Course Content:

This phase serves as the foundational launchpad for the entire project. The curriculum begins with an in-depth deconstruction of the annual BPA theme, utilizing case studies to clearly identify key scoring criteria and judge expectations. Subsequently, teams are guided through multiple rounds of structured brainstorming to spark breakthrough business ideas, followed by a preliminary screening process using SWOT analysis. A core component of this phase involves systematic instruction on the Business Model Canvas, guiding teams to translate their creative concepts into a logically rigorous and comprehensive business framework. Additionally, Porter's Five Forces model is introduced to facilitate a preliminary assessment of the competitive landscape, thereby ensuring the solidity of the team's strategic foundation.

Phase Deliverables:

Production of a Business Model Canvas that is validated for innovation, features a unique value proposition, and possesses a clear, well-structured framework.

Phase 2: Market Research, STP, and Marketing Mix Strategies (6 Hours)

Course Content: This phase focuses on the precise implementation of strategic initiatives. The curriculum provides guidance on conducting both primary and secondary market research to validate the hypotheses outlined in the Business Model Canvas. A key focus is placed on mastering the theories of Market Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning (STP), and utilizing these principles to develop precise User Personas. Based on the conclusions derived from the STP analysis, participants will comprehensively apply the 7Ps Marketing Mix framework (Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process, and Physical Evidence) to formulate a detailed and actionable marketing tactical plan, thereby ensuring that the Value Proposition is effectively communicated to the target audience.

Phase Deliverables: Completion of a detailed marketing plan encompassing an STP analysis, User Personas, and a comprehensive 7Ps marketing strategy.

[Phase 3: Financial Decision-Making, Risk Analysis, and Project Management (5 Hours)]

Course Content: This phase infuses the proposed solution with a rational core and robust execution capabilities. In the financial component, the focus lies on conducting Breakeven Analysis and Cash Flow Forecasting, calculating key financial ratios, and substantiating the financial feasibility of the proposal. Decision Trees are introduced to assess the risks and potential returns associated with critical strategic options. Finally, Gantt Charts are utilized for project management planning—clearly delineating task assignments, timelines, and milestones—thereby demonstrating the team's exceptional execution prowess.

Phase Deliverables: The production of a comprehensive report encompassing financial models, core decision-making pathways, and a detailed implementation schedule.

[Phase 4: Advanced Presentation, Data Visualization, and Public Speaking Masterclass (5 Hours)]

Course Content: This phase focuses on the pinnacle of presenting results. Moving beyond basic design, the specialized training covers how to clearly, intuitively, and impactfully present complex business models (such as Business Canvases and STP frameworks) and financial data through advanced data visualization techniques. Regarding public speaking, the curriculum offers comprehensive refinement—ranging from script structure and persuasive storytelling to professional stage presence (including vocal delivery, body language, and camera awareness). Furthermore, through high-intensity mock Q&A sessions, the training enhances the team's ability to think on their feet and effectively persuade the judges.

Phase Deliverables: Produce a presentation deck (PPT) meeting the professional standards of a top-tier consulting firm, and deliver a confident, fluid, and highly persuasive business presentation.

Intensive Review and Coaching Phase (8 Hours)

This phase provides a total of eight hours of intensive, personalized team coaching. Mentors will conduct multiple rounds of in-depth reviews and debriefs centered on the core deliverables produced by the team at various stages—specifically, the Business Model Canvas, market and financial analyses, presentation slides, and pitch videos.

The review process comprehensively covers the rigor of strategic logic, the reliability of data-driven argumentation, the persuasiveness of visual storytelling, and the compelling nature of the oral presentation. Through a continuous, high-quality feedback loop, this phase drives every detail of the project toward perfection, ensuring that the final submission demonstrates a decisive competitive edge.
